Staybridge Suites - Dundee, an IHG Hotel

Cannot rate this place highly enough , beautiful seating areas in reception warm and comfortable staff on reception friendly and welcoming . Bar area cosy and meals really tasty (we ate there twice during the week) very reasonable priced also and again staff really friendly and attentive to our needs. Breakfast was a large buffet selection with additional vegan/vegetarian sausages if required (I didn't as there was enough there already). Suite was fantastic warm and cosy with a seating area and small kitchen area which had everything you need for cooking meals under counter fridge and freezer compartment. Large screen t.v and good WiFi connection shower room with neverending hot water and large fluffy towels . Definitely recommend this place to friends , lots to do in Dundee with museums , botanics , Broughty Ferry quick bus to St Andrews and plenty of buses to other places . Bus station a short walk down the hill from hotel and centre of town a 10 minute walk . A Marks and Spencer food shop also 5 minute walk away down the hill in retail park .

The King Suite we hired was very good. Very clean. It was nice to have the bedroom separate from the lounge. The underfloor heating could be easily controlled. The kitchen was very well equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, stove and cupboards. Cleaning things provided. The bathroom was large and choice of showers . Luxury shampoo , soap and body cream. Flat screen TV in bedroom and lounge. Use of the gym. The social night was a delight. The staff were friendly and efficient. It was quiet at night time. The public seating areas were spacious, with modern, tasteful and comfortable seating. Breakfast was very good with varied choices, and it was nice to have free hot beverages available 24/7 in breakfast lounge.

The suite was wonderful, so thoughtfully set out with everything you could need during your stay: bedroom with a comfy king sized bed and TV , lovely bathroom with a powerful shower and bath, small lounge with another TV and a small kitchenette with everything you need for preparing a small meal. Great central location which meant that you could walk to all of Dundee's main attractions. A real bonus was the included breakfast : great range of items from cooked breakfast , continental, fresh fruit , baked items and much more. All was good quality and freshly cooked and constantly being refreshed by staff. Set you up for the day . You could also get tea/coffee from here 24hrs a day. Suites also had a bar off the main reception and a pantry where you could purchase drinks, snacks and frozen ready meals. Restaurant next door.

Liked having kitchen facilities, the high ceilings and the high spec. It was super to be able to bring our cat. It was good to have a dishwasher and they even supplied a couple of dishwasher tablets. The room was smaller than the last time I was there when the bedroom was partitioned off and there was more space to dine in the kitchen. It was lovely and warm.

The hotel is a perfect blend of hotel and apartment and the building is sympathetically renovated to included the modern whilst appreciating the past history. The location is pretty good being convenient for driving and walking and only spoiled by the fact that the car park isn't big enough and the one time we had to park in the council car park we ended up with a ticket being 20 minutes late back. The room was a hotel room improved by adding a kitchenette. Shower was great, bathroom was just the right size with enough room to put your stuff out and the air con worked well.
